How Housekeeping Is Tracked
Housekeeping is managed through room statuses and activity logs. There is no separate housekeeping screen — everything is done directly on each room.
Typical Flow After a Guest Checks Out
- Guest checks out → room status automatically set to Cleaning
- Housekeeping staff clean the room
- Staff open the room from Inventory → Rooms
- Click Change Room Status → select Ready
- Room is now available for the next guest
Logging a Housekeeping Activity
- Open the room from Inventory → Rooms
- Click Change Room Status
- Select the appropriate action:

| Cleaned | Room has been cleaned |
| Inspected | Room has been checked for quality |
| Prepared | Room is set up for the next guest (towels, welcome items, etc.) |
| Maintenance | A maintenance issue has been addressed |
| Ready | Room is fully prepared and available |
- Add notes if needed (e.g., "light bulb replaced", "deep clean done")
- Save
Every action is logged with a timestamp automatically.
Viewing the Log
Open a room from Inventory → Rooms to see its full history of status changes — who changed what and when. Useful for audits and accountability.
Room Statuses at a Glance
Go to Inventory → Rooms and use the status filter to quickly see:
- Which rooms are Cleaning (need attention)
- Which rooms are Ready (available for new guests)
- Which rooms are in Maintenance (blocked from booking)
Common Questions
Who can update room statuses? Any admin or manager with access to that location.
Can I assign housekeeping tasks to specific staff? Task assignment is not currently a feature. Use the notes field in the status change to record who did the work.
Is there a way to be notified when a room needs cleaning? Not via push notification. The Cleaning status is visible immediately in Inventory → Rooms — check this list after each check-out.
